Client Guide

What to expect at your appointment

We'll begin with a brief consultation to discuss your waxing service. I'll answer any questions you have and guide you through what to expect so you feel informed and at ease.

During your service, I'll move through each step with  care, ensuring your comfort. You can ask any questions or concerns that may come up during the service.

Before you leave, I'll provide clear aftercare instructions and my contact information for any follow-up questions. Your care continues beyond the studio.

Common Questions

How long should I grow my hair out for?
You should have at least three weeks of hair growth in order to wax. If it's shorter, we risk not all of your hair coming out, extra irritation, and breakage. If your hair is long, no worries! No need to trim, as you can accidentally make it short in some areas. Leave the grooming up to me.

How should I prep for my wax?
Moisturize every day leading up to your wax, and exfoliate 48 hours prior. Do not exfoliate within 24 hours of the appointment. Drink water, and avoid excess caffeine in the hours leading up to your appointment. Refrain from squeezing and picking at any blemishes or ingrown hairs in the area being waxed.

Does waxing hurt?
Every person's pain tolerance varies. I use techniques to make the experience as quick and gentle as possible. Most people say it is MUCH easier than they expected. After your initial wax and with consistency, it gets even easier. It does hurt a little bit- but it's not like it is in the movies.

Is waxing awkward?
Not at all! I do this all day, every day. Some days I do up to 15 brazilians. My priority is to help you feel comfortable and at ease. After your first appointment, you'll feel like you are catching up with a friend.

How long do results last?
You will be mostly hair free for about 2 weeks, then your hair will start to grown in very lightly. It can take anywhere from 2-3 waxes to get all of your hair on the same cycle, so you might have some hairs left behind your first few sessions. With proper home care, you will have better, longer lasting results. The hair that grows back is 50% as dense, and much finer. The long term effects include finer, softer, less noticeable hair.

How often should I come in?
For best results, 4 weeks is the ideal amount of time to get the maximum benefits out of waxing. 4-6 weeks is the ideal time to stay consistent with the hair growth cycle, and that can be decided depending on your personal preference.

Can I get waxed while pregnant?
Yes! Waxing is safe while pregnant and I have waxed many women up until their due date. There are a few considerations to keep in mind, however. Always consult with your healthcare provider first. I recommend beginning the waxing process as early as possible. Pregnancy can often lead to heightened sensitivity, so it's best to get the first brazilian (the most uncomfortable) out of the way as soon as possible, or even before you become pregnant. Throughout the pregnancy we make adjustments such as more comfortable positioning to suit your needs.

Can I still get waxed during my period?
Yes! You absolutely can, you just need to have a tampon or menstrual cup in. It is normal to feel more sensitive a few days prior to your period and in the first few days.
